I can't wait to get this season started.
That being said, I hope Girgensons isn't out too long in Rochester after he got destroyed last night. I was looking forward to seeing what he'd do with increased ice time.
Here's a link to the hit. It happens in the top left corner. It's good to see his teammates stick up for him too.

Pretty sure he got 5 and a game misconduct for that. Rightfully so.

He did. I just hope Girgensons doesn't miss too much time. I really think he was starting to come around and has been getting increased ice time with Hodgson and Foligno being pulled from the lineup.

That's not bad at all... I'm on the fence with him coming back. - jochfr
I'm ok with it but only because it's a shortened season. If it was a full 82 game season I would say they need something different. However, you don't have time for chemistry issues and he already knows the system. I think he'll fit in well in a more limited role.
That brings me to my biggest concern. He better not be centering the top line. I don't care how badly Hodgson may look over the first few games. Jochen better not, in any way, be the #1 center on this team at any point this year.

Exactly Goose. Excellent depth move for that commitment in my opinion.
However, Buffalo is icing a quality lineup this year. If Miller can return to form, your team should be one to reckon with - FLflames34
i agree we have some good young talent and the whole "ott factor " , and to bring back a veteran who knows the system ( totally understanding the concussion factor) with a solid defense ..... im so ready for the " season "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about some standing predictions? - Enzomatic
As I see it, this lineup will finish anywhere between 7 and 13. It really just depends on how Hodgson and Ennis handle top dog duties and how Miller plays.

Special teams and Goaltending are key this season.
Which back up goaltender can hold up under the pressure will be key because they will be called upon early and often in a 'sprint to the cup' such as this is.
That's why my Sabres unsung hero for the 2013 season is going to be Jhonas Enroth with special mention to Jochen Hecht.
